Into The Wild: Based on the biography of Christopher McCandless (Pseudonym- Alexander Supertramp), a man who hiked across North America into Alaska, leaving behind his conventional lifestyle after graduation, cutting and burning his credit cards and all identity cards. 2. The Way: A father walks Spain's Camino de Santiago trail after his son dies pursuing the same. The journey of a father who struggles to make friends with strangers walking on the same road of pilgrimage for their own personal reasons is so heartwarming.

3. Wild: Based on the bestseller of 2012 with the same name by Cheryl Strayed, who takes a hike of 1100 miles on the Pacific crest after the loss of her mother. A beautiful film showcasing the struggles a traveler and how it leads to mental clarity and self-acceptance.

4. The Bucket List: This is a tearjerker, where two terminally ill men, escape from their ward in the hospital to tick off things from their bucket list. This film will remind you that life is short and that every dream and every wish in your to-do list is possible. And to top it, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman will drive you nuts where you will smile through tears.

5. Zindagi na milegi dobara: Three friends decide to take a road trip before one of them is about to get engaged. They also decide to do three dares along their trip suggested by each one challenging their deep-rooted fears. It turns out that they not only take a road trip but also go on a journey to discover themselves again. The movie is fun, emotional, and perfect to be watched over and over again.

6. The way back: This movie is more of an escape plot, but one thing that it clearly is ideal to be watched by travelers, is the bond that exists between strangers when they walk the same path. It is inspired by a true story where seven prisoners from Siberia escape with very little food during the winters and them 4500 miles to reach India.

7. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty: When Walter's and his co-worker's job is threatened, he embarks on an adventurous journey to break the monotony, which turns out to be more than he ever imagined. This is a thrilling movie with so many unexpected turns associated with any spontaneous travel plan.

9. Eat Pray Love: A book by Elizabeth Gilbert turned into a movie that evokes senses. This is one movie I can probably say that is better than the book. A woman, with her marriage on the verge of a divorce, takes on a journey to eat in Italy, pray in India and love in Bali. This plot is a beautiful journey of self-discovery.

10. Tracks: Based on a real-life story, a woman writer travels 1700 miles in the desert of West Australia along with one faithful dog and four camels. With rare occasional visits from humans, this story is highly inspiring and makes you think about solo traveling.
